Do you have memories of Arnolfini to tell us?
We are looking for around five participants from Arnolfini’s audience to join our team for 'Rethinking Archives: History, Media, Memory'. This important series of events will address the most current debates in archiving theory and practice and affect how Arnolfini’s archive is developed over the next few years. Workshop participants will examine different approaches and ideas about archiving with the help of artists, archivists, curators and scholars. We will look at memory and oral history, digital media, conserving the transient and ephemeral, reconstruction and restaging. Archival material from Arnolfini’s past will be on hand to stimulate memories and narratives, and aid our discussions. To participate you would need to be able to commit to all four workshops, which run from 11am to 5pm on Wednesdays 8 Oct, 26 Nov, 21 Jan and 4 Mar.
You need no expertise in any of the topics mentioned, though you may have. Your memories of Arnolfini’s programme will be included in the archiving processes throughout the workshops, becoming part of the archive itself through the documenting of our discussions.
