Perform at Arnolfini!
Choreographer Augusto Corrieri is looking for people to take part in a performance which will show on Sat 13 February at Arnolfini, Bristol. No dance or theatre experience is necessary, and rehearsals will be 'virtual': in order to learn and practice the show, participants will be watching a series of online instruction videos.
This is how it works:
Step 1. Go to www.augustocorrieri.com , open the About page, and click on Dance company virtual rehearsal space andwatch an introductory video of the show.
Step 2. If you are interested in performing the show, just send Augusto an email to say hello and why you'd like to take part. Skill, age, and experience are irrelevant, as long as you think you'd enjoy committing to this project.
Get in touch if you'd like to make this performance possible by writing to Augusto Corrieri: info@augustocorrieri.com by 29 January 2010
Each participants will receive £20 towards their expenses (food, travel, etc).
Dance company is a show that openly reveals the process of how a dance show is learnt and produced in front of an audience. What spectators see is a group of 10 performers succeeding and failing to practice a series of theatre games and dance exercises. The show wants to ask: why do we find it interesting to watch bodies move? How can movements hold our interest if the traditional skill of the dancer is absent from the stage?
