Support us
Many people don't realise that Arnolfini is a charity that costs around £1.8million each year to run. Funding from Arts Council England and Bristol City Council currently provide around 50% of our costs but we must raise the rest.
Your generosity is essential if Arnolfini is to maintain an innovative programme of exhibitions and events and to continue making a difference to Bristol's culture and the contemporary arts in Britain.
For 50 years, Arnolfini has been a meeting place and a catalyst for ideas. In this time, it has established an international reputation for its programme. Arnolfini has supported now-influential artists early in their careers and has encouraged people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with art. It has become an intrinsic part of Bristol's cultural landscape.
This section of the site gives you some information as to how you can support Arnolfini and demonstrate your commitment to the contemporary arts.

FUTURE FUND
"My first revelation of contemporary art was coming across the Arnolfini Gallery when it was based above a bookshop in Clifton, in the 1960s. It was the first time I
had seen abstract art..." Richard Long, artist
Arnolfini has always been future-facing, dedicated to making artistic excellence and innovation accessible to as many people as possible. In large part this has been made possible by the extraordinary generosity and foresight of Arnolfini's first Chair, Peter Barker-Mill, who established two significant endowments, in 1969 and 1979. These major donations helped to safeguard Arnolfini's mission, to foster artistic experiment and engagement across the contemporary arts, for the first 50 years. In 2003, the remaining funds in the endowment were invested in the acquisition and refurbishment of Arnolfini's premises, Bush House. We are now seeking to replenish these endowments, through a new Future Fund, to ensure that Arnolfini can continue to provide a platform for championing new art and new ideas for the next 50 years. If you are interested in making a donation to Arnolfini's Future Fund please contact the Development department. Significant contributions
could be acknowledged by the naming of spaces within Arnolfini.
