A work of enormous scope and vision and an extended essay on cinema by means of cinema, illuminated by one of the most influential figures in the history of cinema Jean Luc Godard. The eight episodes that make up the Histoire(s) include anecdotal autobiography, epic poem, freely associative essay, and vast multi-layered musical composition. Four episodes screen each afternoon.
On 21 May you can hear a talk by Emilie Bickerton on the influential film journal Cahiers du Cinema.
