The full English breakfast is given a Citizenship Test as Mem Morrison returns to his roots to explore the cultural connotations of the traditional greasy spoon café.
Leftovers is a performance and sound installation which is an affectionate yet probing view of how cultures meet, eat, socialise with and influence each other. Taking place in time-honoured cafés, the work brings together Mem’s cultural and culinary concerns alongside the personal histories of Turkish Cypriot café owners.
LEFTOVERS is commissioned by Chelsea Theatre and Nottingham NOW. The sound installation is commissioned by Kahve Society in association with Artsadmin and is financially supported by Awards for All.
