Make, explore and create in the Community Workshop

Located on Level 2 of Arnolfini, our Community Workshop is a welcoming, open space for everyone to explore their creativity.

On any given day, the Community Workshop is alive with activity — used by communities and visitors making use of the easels and free materials, enjoying the natural light and views across Bristol’s harbourside, or simply taking time out to explore their own creativity.

We want Arnolfini to be a place where everyone feels welcome to come exactly as they are.

Alongside our exhibitions, the Community Workshop offers materials, activities and resources inspired by what’s happening across Arnolfini.

Explore the materials, activities and resources on display and make something of your own.

What object makes you feel, look or move differently?

Joy Gregory’s Objects of Beauty brings our attention to familiar objects — things we use to dress, decorate, shape and change ourselves.

Choose an object from our collection or find one in a magazine. It could be something you wear, carry, put on, take off, brush, clip, tie, lace or decorate yourself with.

Use carbon paper to trace and transfer your object.

Pin your work to the wall and add it to our growing community display.
