Created in collaboration with Phoebe Moss, artist facilitator and members of Arnolfini’s Front of House team, these cards are a resource designed to invite dialogue, reflection, and education—whether you’re exploring the exhibition alone or with others.
What are the Conversation Cards?
A set of 10 double-sided cards featuring:
- Thought-provoking questions inspired by Barbara Walker’s work and the themes explored in Being Here.
- Glossary terms on the reverse, offering clear definitions to help unpack important ideas and language found throughout the exhibition.
Organised into four overlapping themes—Context, Artwork, Artist, and Glossary—the cards encourage a deeper engagement with the art on display and the wider world it speaks to.

- Use the ‘Question side’ to guide discussions, journal reflections, or group activities.
