This special gathering honours the power of artistic expression, and community resilience in the face of unrest, amplifying creativity as a force for connection and change.
The event is an opportunity to learn more about the Diverse Artists Network, connect with fellow creatives, and stay up to date with our city’s grassroots arts scene.
The day will be lively, inclusive and family-friendly, featuring:

- live music
- theatre and dance performances
- open mic
- a raffle with exciting prizes
- delicious, home-cooked food.
Workshop Schedule
Poetry as Community: A Creative Writing Workshop (11am-1pm, Reading Room, 2nd Floor)
Join writer Jessica Olivia Neill, a member of the team at the Diverse Artists Network (DAN), for this free writing workshop on the theme of community. This session will explore some creative writing prompts and how to write a poem as a group.
This session is suitable for 12 years and over.
Sing With Soul: Singing Workshop (2pm-4pm, Community Workshop, 2nd Floor)
Come and take part in this free singing workshop with actor, writer, singer, producer and creator of the musical DAWTA, Dionne Draper.
This interactive session is for all ages, abilities and is fun for all the family!
Get Creative! Women’s Workshop (2pm-4pm, Reading Room, 2nd Floor)
Artist Carlota Matos has been running a Creative Leadership Training programme in partnership with the charity Borderlands, supporting migrant women to build confidence in planning and leading creative workshops. In this session, participants from the training will be sharing creative activities they have developed. From flower arranging to food memories, come and explore your creativity in a relaxed and welcoming space.
This interactive session is open to all women and children of all ages.
