Arnolfini - est 1961

British artist Emma Talbot will be joining us for Autumn, bringing her complex visual poems to life across drawing, silk paintings, sculpture, installation and animation. Often based on her own personal memories and understanding of universal issues, Talbot explores our relationship with the natural and technological world, weaving together themes of ‘rebirth, transformation, sustainability and human resilience amid systemic ecological collapse’.

Creating both intimate and expansive physical spaces, her work creates an environment within which a host of philosophical perspectives and questions are thoughtfully posed to her audiences. Featuring new and existing work, the exhibition centres around a multi-part installation Are you a living thing that is dying or a dying thing that is living? / Everything is Energy co-commissioned with Copenhagen Contemporary and adapted for each space.

Are you a living thing that is dying or a dying thing that is living? Will be exhibited at Copenhagen Contemporary, Denmark from 1 February to 8 August 2025. Emma is represented by Galerie Onrust.
