Inspired by our summer exhibitions, Jonathon Baldock: Held and Polly Braden: Against the Tide, we invite practitioners and community groups to host a Gathering in our galleries.
Previous Gatherings have included communal stitching, creative wellbeing activities, yoga, storytelling, poetry, and more.
Gatherings take place throughout the year, alongside Arnolfini’s changing exhibitions programme.
ABOUT THE GATHERINGS PROGRAMME
The Gatherings Programme invites people to come together in Arnolfini’s galleries to share creative, reflective, and collective activities. Gatherings are informal, inclusive, and free to attend, offering opportunities for communities to connect with each other, new audiences and the exhibitions on display.
Gatherings can respond to, explore or simply take inspiration from our exhibitions and the ideas, themes and artists presented in the galleries.
PLEASE NOTE
Gatherings should take place primarily in the galleries, creating opportunities for participants to encounter and spend time with the exhibitions.
You are welcome to extend your visit into the Community Workshop or Reading Room where appropriate, but we encourage the main activity to happen in the galleries.
The galleries will remain open to the public throughout Gatherings.
Maximum group size: 20.
Gatherings are free to host, and must also be free for participants
Gatherings can take place Tuesday–Friday
HOW TO APPLY
We welcome proposals throughout the year. If you are interested in hosting a Gathering, please email community@arnolfini.org.uk with Gatherings in the subject line, including:
- Lead organiser and name of your group
- A short description of your group and proposed activity (max 150 words)
- Proposed date and time
- Any access needs
We welcome ideas that respond directly to the exhibitions, as well as activities that bring different perspectives, experiences and communities into conversation with the programme.
