Life Drawing Fundamentals

8, 15, 22 and 29th August

Time: 11.00am – 2.30pm (lunch break: 1 – 1.30pm)

Ever wanted to build confidence in life drawing? This informal four-week course with artist Stuart Cranfield offers a welcoming introduction to the fundamentals of drawing the figure. Through practical exercises and guided tuition, you’ll develop the core skills needed to approach life drawing with greater confidence and understanding.

Each session focuses on a different aspect of foundational life drawing, with a maximum of 20 participants to allow for individual attention and a supportive learning environment.

The sessions take place in our new Light Studio on the second floor.

Book all four sessions: £120 (please click on the 8th August and select the full series ticket)
Individual sessions: £35

Across the four sessions, we will cover:

  • Proportion – Methods for constructing a drawing and understanding the figure’s underlying structure.
  • Tone – Ways of simplifying form and capturing light and shadow and exploring colour.
  • Line – Exploring the language, quality, and expressive potential of line.
  • Putting it together – An opportunity to bring these elements together through longer poses, with more one-to-one support.

All materials will be provided.
