Exploring the role art has played in the opening of a new mental health service in Bristol.

The Kingfisher is a new mental health service in Bristol, for autistic people and people with a learning disability. Working with Hospital Rooms, an arts and mental health charity, the new service has created sensitive and intuitive new art works designed to support the wellbeing and sensory needs of those receiving care.

Curator Louis Caseley (Hospital Rooms) will be joined by artists Chris Rose and Louise Morgan, Colin Higginson (artist and co-founder Art in Motion), and peer support worker Ben Stunnell. Together, they will reflect on how artworks have been developed for the project, as well as the wider relationship between art, space, wellbeing, and community.

In addition, Hospital Rooms present an exhibition of works created for The Kingfisher at the Create Centre, from the 9th to the 21st of May. Further details here.
