Mounira Al Solh: A Land as Big as Her Skin
Join us at the preview night for Mounira Al Solh: A Land as Big as Her Skin at Arnolfini. Free, all welcome
Lebanese artist Mounira Al Solh invites you into a vivid world where ancient mythology collides with contemporary experience. Born in Beirut, now living and working between the Netherlands and Lebanon, her work poignantly and playfully navigates complex themes including identity, migration, trauma, inequality and gender, through her deep love of craftsmanship and materials.
FVU New Takes film programme
Launching the same night, FVU New Takes film programme – organised by Arnolfini in partnership with Film and Video Umberella – celebrates emerging new talent in moving image. The programme begins with Hantao Li’s film ‘Giants’ Anatomy’ which imagines a speculative afterlife for decommissioned North Sea oil platforms.
FVU New Takes is presented in Arnolfini’s Dark Studio, showcasing a new work every month by one of six early-career artists working in moving image, each commissioned by Film and Video Umbrella.
