Inspired by our exhibition Everything is Energy, Let’s Make Art have created a step by step guide where families can come together to transform everyday recycled materials into a beautiful festive snowflake

Using items found around the home: magazines, wrapping paper and saved packaging, you’ll learn how to craft a paper snowflake. An idea is to make several snowflakes from lots of different collected papers which can be combined into one vibrant garland display.

Guided by the creative spirit of Emma Talbot, whose practice explores ecological awareness, sustainability and our relationship with the natural world, this workshop encourages thoughtful making with what we already have. Talbot’s use of reused textiles and sustainable resources inspires questions about life cycles, renewal and permanence, ideas that also shape Let’s Make Arts choice of materials and making process.

With a colour scheme influenced by the rich, layered hues in Talbot’s paintings, this workshop invites families to celebrate creativity, sustainability and the joy of making together.
