Arnolfini are a Rest Friendly venue and encourage you to make yourself as comfortable as possible. We do this to welcome the chronically ill community to visit our exhibitions, but also as a wider invitation to linger with the art and to use rest as a way to engage with art.

Places to Sit

Portable folding stools are available around the galleries for people to pick up and use. We are currently limiting the amount of fixed seating available as part of our Covid-19 risk assessment.

We have yoga mats available for your use, and when our exhibitions permit, we will also have bean bags available.

Please ask our friendly Visitor Services team if you need any assistance – they will be more than happy to find the right yoga mat for you and to help you in and out of the bean bags.

We also have a sofa and bean bag in the Reading Room and encourage you to use this as a Resting Space.

Quiet space

Although we don’t currently have a dedicated space if you need a quite space, we have a number of activity rooms which if available we will endeavour to accommodate you.

We work with our friends at Unchartered Collective to offer Restful Events during each exhibition. Please visit https://arnolfini.org.uk/whatson/ for details.
