An artist talk and ongoing distribution of images and texts referencing a peripatetic musical evolving as it moves between institutions.
Talk: Friday 13 September, 1pm, Free
Throughout 4 Days Cally Spooner will produce and distribute images and text from her ongoing project And You Were Wonderful, On Stage discussing this and other potentialities with Vivian Ziherl, curator at the research, programming and production hub If I Can’t Dance I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution on Friday 13 September.
Originally commissioned specifically for the grand staircase in the historical Stedelijk Museum and featuring musical arrangements and composition by Peter Joslyn, And You Were Wonderful, On Stage takes the form of a peripatetic musical for a chorus line, evolving as it moves between institutions. The first installment presented six female voices, that gossiped about current affairs: fallen heroes, unfulfilled promises, and instances of automation parading as ”liveness”, whilst lacking its qualities (changeability, direct encounter and risk), in politics, pop music, and sport.
