Talk from artist Tom Dale. Dale’s work is absurd, witty and diverse.

Dale’s work is absurd, witty and diverse. Often referring to his sculptures as ‘preposterous’ they make explicit the inherent contradictions of the grand gesture. It is a theme that emerges in a series of twisting stunt ramps emblazoned with stars and stripes, inspired by Evel Knievel as well as in his recent work, an installation at Ham House, which traces the tangled relationship between patronage and democracy. His talk will include details of his current public art commission for Bristol, which Arnolfini is developing with the artist as part of the Primary Capital Programme.

Free for UWE staff and students with ID – tickets can be collected in person from Arnolfini Box Office from 11am on the day of the event.
