Arnolfini - est 1961

Sat 20 Sep, 3pm

£3.00/£2.00 concs & Spike associates

This fine mix of film, audio and performance celebrates work created by Newcastle artist-run space Ayton Basement, showcasing associated artists including Stuart Marshall, Nicolas Collins and Jenny Okun. Opening in 1976, Ayton Basement would go on to evolve first into Basement Group and then become Projects UK, which continues today in Newcastle as commissioning agency Locus+. This special event will be introduced by curator Peter Todd, a founding member.

After the event, Spike Associates will host an informal discussion on Bristol’s art community, focussing on the role of collaboration and cooperation in the development of artists’ careers.

Supported by Spike Island’s Associate Programme.
