I’ve Been Ill Advised By My Scriptwriter stages the condition of constructed language, and the theatre of words at work. Originally designed for the event I Proclaim, You Proclaim, We Proclaim – When Art Speaks at Stroom in the Netherlands, the performance appropriates genres of of ‘stand up’ speaking, inscribing these into a scripted male monologue, and an unworkable solo event, for an actor and his assistant.
