Dune Series is a collection of music events and online mixes showcasing a selection of Bristol’s underground electronic music communities.

Bodygurn

Bodygurn is an electronic music party which resides in Bristol and is run by a trio that originally hail from Wales and France. Early parties have had an emphasis on booking people that fly under the radar somewhat but were selected for their fine musical tastes as well as their none-too-shabby skills behind the decks. London-based Truly Madly, who is a regular on the worldwide Estimulo radio show and Chris Seddon, founder and runner of the Supine tape-mix series and publishing company, graced the decks to much acclaim as they were introduced to a crowd that was unaware of their talented wares. Such was their impact that Bodygurn were pestered to get them back again and they have agreed to be semi-regular guests at the parties going forward. Both are beginning to make waves outside of London for the first time, with both recently appearing at the Field Maneuvers Festival in Oxfordshire, so keep an eye out for their future returns to this fine city.

This summer saw Bodygurn host a day-party in conjunction with their friends at the successful Bristol-based Dirtytalk parties, with everything from ambient to African rhythms with the usual house and techno records that you’d come to expect from a Bodygurn party. Next up is a slight break form the norm as they put on the undoubted talents of John Heckle and Tabernacle Records founder Andrew Ingram, not quite so under the radar but definitely DJ’s that need to be seen (More info announced soon). Expect: House, Techno, early 90’s bleep, ambient, electronica & whatever else they can find lurking in their shelves!
