Expensive Darlings by acclaimed choreographer Maja Delak and the first production by the Slovene institute Emanat, is a reflection on the state of contemporary dance and women in society. Using seven dancers and actresses, the work rethinks the status of women in contemporary cultural politics and everyday life. Playing roles from angels to matadors they explain their situations through intimate stories as well as through movement and dance. A performance full of bitterness, toughness, humour and hard-line body language led by extreme and highly articulated personal desire and joy.
