Increasingly, projects have been commissioned to respond to particular geographical locations or situations. As this tendency has grown so have artists critical responses to the pressures it brings to bear on the creation and meaning of artworks. Curator and writer Simon Morrissey will discuss how the recent projects Other Plans and Home Ornaments attempt to critique the relationship between commissioner and artist, place and artwork with the artists Juan Cruz, Michael Dean and Daphne Wright.
