FLY! Festival of Black Women’s Theatre | Enjoy the latest in fresh and exciting writing from a selection of Black women writers from around the country.

FLY! Festival of Black Women’s Theatre is delighted to include fresh and unusual productions in their programme – including On the Up, a scratch night featuring the work of three Black women performers.

Herlina Syarifudin shares her play My Name is Name, a lyrical piece of theatre giving insight into Indonesian culture.

Paula Davis presents Blood, Sweat and Vaginas. Funny, accessible, fast-paced, one woman navigates her way through hormone assault courtesy of the menopause.

Finally, Bristol-based Ros Martin’s Moonheaven. The play won Alfred Fagon special commendation award in 2010 and carries the audience to Jamaica and a family in the grips of tragedy

Note: Moonheaven deals with someone dying of cancer.

Jenny Davis and Paige Hernandez will be guest directors  giving the pieces a very special feel.

FLY! Festival of Black Women’s Theatre is proudly supported by Arnolfini.
