Calling the Shots and Young Arnolfini present a special screening of new short films made by 16-24 year olds for the Arts Council England in partnership with Channel 4 programme, Random Acts.
These films are the first to be commissioned in the South West, with the young filmmakers chosen in may to work closely with industry experts to develop their ideas.
After the screening there will be a chance to meet the filmmakers: Rosa Galvin, Nathan Sibley, Jim Smith, Aisha Sanyang-Meek, Naomi Bowey, Ali Taylor and Baylea Hart, followed by a Q&A and a chance to network.
Random Acts South West is Looking for young people aged 16-24 with a great idea for a film. These can be animations, arts films, spoken word, music-inspired, documentaries or dramas and must be between 90 seconds and 3 minutes long.
Successful applicants will be paired with an industry professional and given a package of support to help them learn and develop skills ‘on the job’.
