Whether through utopian visions or dystopian scare-mongering, writers have contributed much to debates about life in the future. Led by Laurajayne Friedlander, this event, for anyone interested in listening to and sharing ideas on writing, will explore and discuss various texts by artists, scientists and novelists in the context of Wonderful, including extracts from John Wyndhams The Day of The Triffids, Bristols Great Reading Adventure book for 2004. The day will be recorded by writer and artist Andy Smith, who will produce a visual and textual response to the days discussions to be distributed across the city.
