Performing Documents: Remake

Performing Documents is a collaborative research project and series of events funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Hosted by the University of Bristol in partnership with Arnolfini and In Between Time the project draws on creative, curatorial and research strategies to present awide-reaching investigation into the problems and potential of performance and its documents. September 2012 sees the first of four Performing Documents presentations at Arnolfini, followed by activity in December and Spring 2013. The theme of this first instalment is ‘remaking’ – experimenting with creative ways of engaging with documents and recordings authored by other artists.

Invited by the Performing Documents project a collective of artists, curators and researchers explored the theme of ‘remaking’ in a series of workshops. Ideas from these workshops are shared in performances, debate and screenings under the heading ‘Remake’.
