Featuring live performances by artists working with sound and music whose work reflects notions of decay.

Sarah Angliss, Kemper Norton and Lisa Busby will be joined by Hoofus from Saisonscape’s Supporting Emerging Practice series.

Saisonscape: Decay will be the third installment of Art Assembly’s Saisonscape – a quarterly series that investigates the seasons through experimental music and sonic art. Taking place in autumn, Decay reflects on the natural cycle of the season – leaf litter and organic material dropping to the ground and breaking down into one, renewing the soil with a rich and nourishing composition.

For this edition of the series Saisonscape focuses on artists who use archives of field recordings, folk story and who layer instrumentation, objects and found sound. In this unique work, sounds, ideas and material mulch into new combinations, providing fertile ground for unexpected work and inspiring performance.

Richard Long: TIME AND SPACE

This event accompanies the major exhibition TIME AND SPACE by Richard Long at Arnolfini, that explores the artist’s enduring relationship with the landscape of Bristol and the South West – a starting point for so many of his iconic works. This exhibition will bring together recreations of previous important works and entirely new commissions, both in the gallery and on The Downs, where the artist spent much of his childhood. The programme of events that accompanies the exhibition and offsite commission includes walks, talks and conversations, family events, screenings and performances.

This edition of Saisonscape is curated and produced by Art Assembly in association with ONOMATO and Arnolfini
