This seasons improvisational jazz battle sees the Birdman of Alkijazz (musician Tony Orrell) challenge one of Britains foremost Jazz saxophonists and composers Andy Sheppard. The duo provide a live accompaniment to Sunrise – an explosive meeting of German romanticism and glossy mass-production modernism. It is pure melodrama; a young farmer and his new wifes happiness is threatened by the arrival of a vamp from the big city.
