The Birdman of Alkijazz
Borderline (12) With Special guest The Blessing, ‘Band of the Year’ Venue Magazine, Jazz World round up 2006
Sun 8 July 8.00pm
£8.00/£6.00 concs
The Birdman of Alkijazz (aka musician Tony Orrell) challenges forward-thinking jazz-rock outfit The Blessing – Portishead’s Jim Barr on bass with a horn section from Pete Judge and Jake McMurchie – to revisit a lost classic of European avant-garde cinema. Set in 1920s Switzerland, Borderline is a seething exploration of love, passion and betrayal which tells the story of a tense, inter-racial love triangle and its deadly consequences.
