Charles Burnett in Conversation Wed 5 Jul 8.30pm £5 / £3.50 concs Arnolfini welcomes veteran American film maker Charles Burnett for a special in-conversation event. Emerging in the 1970s with his debut feature Killer of Sheep, a portrait of black Los Angeles, Burnett has consistently redefined the framework of cinema. Since recently directing The Blues documentary alongside Martin Scorsese and Wim Wenders, he has worked on Nujoma, the biopic of Sam Nujoma, the first president of Namibia and former leader of the South West African Peoples Organization. Charles Burnett will be speaking to David A. Bailey about his life and work.
