During a four week residency in October 2014, graphic designers from the University of the West of England BA programme will work collaboratively in response to the themes of The Promise.

Exploring design’s critical potential to both create and maintain official narratives for buildings and places, as well as to address contemporary issues and possible futures, the students will design alternative narratives and uses for a series of architectural sites in Bristol.

Working in film and print they will create dialogues around new realities and histories for Bristol. Work in progress will be displayed in the exhibition spaces, followed by an official launch of the projects outcomes on Wednesday 5 November.

With support from the Graphic Design BA at the University of the West of England.

Part of The Promise, an exhibition focusing on the relationship between a city’s design and the hopes and ambitions of its residents. Exhibitions and events will take place in the Arnolfini galleries and across the city of Bristol throughout the summer.
