Peter Hitchens and Howard Marks

The War on Drugs? British politicians, commentators and celebrities often argue that ‘The War on Drugs has failed’ and say that this is why we should abandon all attempts to reduce drug use through the criminal law. Journalist, author and broadcaster Peter Hitchens, who believes all drugs are dangerous, thinks that the ‘War on Drugs’ has never been a serious one. He debates drug policy and its effectiveness and what should happen in the future with Howard Marks – the man the media ‘calls the most sophisticated drugs baron of all time’ – who campaigns vigorously for the legalisation of recreational drugs.
