VISUAL POETRY EXHIBITION
In conjunction with the Visual Poetry exhibition there will be an evening of performance by the four participating poets on 19 Jan 7.00pm Tickets £5/£3 Concs
The poet Charles Olsons theories on projective verse and field composition were a major influence on many of the students he taught whilst at Black Mountain College. Taking the visual form of the poem as a starting point this short exhibition features the work of four contemporary poets each with an individual approach to visual expression. Including work by Tom Leonard in collaboration with the artist Calum Colvin, B.M. Bottomley, Maggie OSullivan, and Brian Catling and Sarah Simbletts short film of Nicholas Johnsons visual poem The Lard Book.
