Join the environmentalists, presenters and natural history filmmakers of the future at this special event hosted by Earthwatch Europe.

Young people today will inherit a world shaped by our actions over the next decade, so providing platforms through which their voices can be heard is of utmost importance. That’s why Earthwatch Europe teamed up with Wildscreen to launch the first Young Earthwatcher Film Competition this summer. Inviting teenagers aged 14 to 17 to create a short film highlighting an environmental issue close to their heart along with a solution to the challenge, this competition encouraged an engaging mix of creativity, technology and environmental action.

During our ‘Framing the future’ session, we will be premiering the environmental short films created by our talented young finalists. A diverse panel of professionals, including CBBC’s Naomi Wilkinson, TV presenter Lizzie Daly, True To Nature founder Wendy Darke and CEO of Barcroft Media Sam Barcroft, will be on hand to discuss the films and ultimately select the overall winner to be crowned Young Earthwatcher of 2018.

Earthwatch Europe: We believe that working together is essential in tackling the challenges that threaten the natural world: the impacts of climate change, the declining health of our rivers and oceans, and the loss of wildlife and habitats. Earthwatchers engage with these urgent issues, taking hands-on action and creating knowledge for a better, more sustainable future. www.earthwatch.org.uk
