LYRA – BRISTOL POETRY FESTIVAL 2019 // A workshop led by Bristol’s City Poet Laureate Vanessa Kisuule.

How do we capture a city in words? Is it the poem’s job to make political commentary? How does our personal experience of a place speak of wider themes and issues? Through lively writing and performing exercises this workshop will get you writing poems about Bristol and discovering how our words have a powerful impact on how we perceive the places we live.

Presented as part of Lyra Bristol Poetry Festival:

Lyra is Bristol’s brand new poetry festival, supported by Arts Council England. We are proud to present a festival programme which captures the variety of modern poetry in terms of its style and presentation.
