Presented by Sheba Soul Ensemble | This is the first ever Black women’s theatre festival to be held in the UK, expect a heady mix of great performances and outstanding workshops.
The festival takes place in between 20th June and 28th, and is made up of a series of workshops and events, each must be booked individually. Please see below for further programme details and bookings:
Monday 24th June 2019
10AM – Unravelling Creativity Sheba Soul Ensemble
Sheba Soul Ensemble – hosting the first ever festival of Black Women’s Theatre, invite you to take some time out and explore your very own pool of creativity and see what you come up with. We are all such infinitely creative beings, so let’s just take a swim within and savour some of our very own crystals of creativity. 2 hour workshop.
12PM – Improvisation tricks! Judith Davis
Bristol’s very own Judith Davis promises a captivating improvisational theatre workshop. Release your hidden adventurer – and come along and make some theatre! 3 hour workshop.
3PM – Writing your play Jenny Davis
Why not try your hand at penning a play, or reworking some of your creative ideas on play-writing under the expert guidance of Jenny Davis? Luxuriate in this 3 hour session to pick up some tricks of the trade and consolidate your work and thinking. 3 hour workshop
Tuesday 25th June 2019
2PM – Sliding into theatre Paige Hernandez
Paige Hernandez promises a pulsating theatre workshop, with -who knows? a touch of hip hop thrown in for good measure, all the way from America…. not to be missed.3 hour workshop.
3PM & 4PM – Dance and inspiration Josiane Antourel
Part of FLY! Festival of Black Women’s Theatre. Josiane Antourel, artistic director of Danselavia, leads an inspirational dance workshop, which has contemplation and celebration at its core. A workshop open to all women, experienced dancers or those dipping their toe in for the very first time. You will love every second of this session.2 hour workshop.
