Circle/دایره is a new live immersive sound and light performance with live music and dance, grown out of an intensive R+D prototype process between Squidsoup and Vilk Collective.
With sold out shows in 2021 at Trinity Bristol, The Egg Theatre Bath and Bristol Beacon, this 30 minute sensory experience combines immersive sound and light with live music and dance. Through the musical narrative in both Farsi and English, themes of migration, heritage and identity come to light.

This R+D project was funded by a grant from Bristol and Bath Creative R+D through the Expanded Performance strand with support from Trinity Community Arts Bristol.
In 2023 Circle/دایره will be touring across the UK as a series of installations and performances co-created with local communities.
Background
Spending research and development time at Trinity Centre in Bristol this project has taken the team on an incredible collaborative journey. Experimenting with the AudioWave technology we worked to fuse Squidsoup’s expertise of creating sound and light artworks, with live performance and compositional skills of Vilk Collective. In this work the audience is invited to experience the piece live in the moment and can be anywhere around the circle, focus can be switched from the live sound to the light and sound of the Orbs, and the synergy between those aspects.
