J. Neve Harrington and coworkers – CONTINUOUS Network

Satelliser means “to put into orbit”.

Satelliser: a dance for the gallery is a durational performance work for an intergenerational group of artist coworkers.

Over the course of two days, the coworkers cycle through the layered labours of moving, speaking, listening and resting, holding buoyant space for conversation to emerge between each other and gallery visitors.  As coworkers subtly alter their spatial configurations in response to the visitors’ movements, they play with the orientation relationships between performance, visitor and space and the kinds of conversations these can support.

BSL interpretation will take place on the Sunday during the following time slots: 12-12:45pm, 2-2:45pm and 4-4:45pm.

The ongoing Satelliser project was selected for touring with CONTINUOUS Network in 2020, and developed through discursive online rehearsals across five time zones and multiple lockdowns. Satelliser was performed at BALTIC CCA and Turner Contemporary in 2021, and Nottdance in 2022 at FABRIC’s IC4C.
